Taking Local Actions to Reduce Food Waste

1) Sign up to receive notifications from speaker Adam Kaye’s company, The Spare Food Co. when their chef-crafted drink is released last this year.

2) Check out Love Your Food NY for practical tips on preventing wasted food at home, how to recycle your food scraps in Town of Mamaroneck and Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, and updates on what our communities are doing to reduce wasted food, share the excess, and compost the rest.

3) Email Food Waste Kits for contactless home delivery of a $20 food waste starter kit in Town of Mamaroneck and Village of Larchmont and with any questions on food scrap recycling/composting in those communities.

4) Email CFTE for questions on food scrap recycling/composting in the Village of Mamaroneck.

5) Contact ASAP Scraps, the student-run enterprise for weekly curbside pickup of food scraps in Village of Mamaroneck, only $14.99 per month.

6) Volunteer with County Harvest, the volunteer-run, food rescue organization in Westchester County, to help pick up excess, perfectly edible, good food from local area markets and private clubs and deliver to nearby food pantries. County Harvest has an amazing, volunteer-friendly scheduling and notification system which makes it easy for volunteers to help when it fits their schedule.
