(Last updated 7/20/20)

Until further notice (we are constantly reassessing), in order to support community and regional efforts to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus and encourage “social distancing”, and in particular to protect the most vulnerable in our community including older adults and those with certain pre-existing medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes and try to reduce the current and prospective strain on our healthcare system, the following is in effect:

  • Larchmont Temple Guidelines for Visitors (8.31.2020)
  • KESHER/LTNS closed for remainder of the year; home/remote learning in effect.
  • Shabbat (Friday) evening services are via livestream ONLY.  Connect through our website or the LT app, or on the LT Facebook page.
  • Saturday morning Chevra Torah is via online video/audio conference – connect info provided on our New Ways to Connect page.
  • Shabbat Morning Musical Minyan will be via online video/audio conference – connect info provided  on our New Ways to Connect page.
  • All smaller groups, committees, meetings and other gatherings - meet by phone or video conference only, not in person. Individual leaders will be responsible for providing relevant meeting information.
  • For other specific event cancellations or changes, check the LT Calendar.
  • See our New Ways to Connect page for info on a variety of virtual events for members and parents, and our Kesher Virtual Learning page for resources for children.
  • The LT office phone line is being staffed during normal business hours Mon-Fri 9am-5pm – please call us at 914-834-6120. Physical presence in the building will be minimal, so please do not come in person without contacting someone first.

Stay home if you are experiencing any sickness symptoms

  • If you believe you may have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, contact your medical provider to discuss appropriate steps BEFORE going to a medical facility, unless you need immediate medical attention. See this CDC page for more information.
  • If you have had close or physical contact with someone you know to have been diagnosed with a confirmed case of COVID-19, you should self-quarantine and contact your medical provider.
  • If you have recently travelled internationally, you should self-quarantine or maintain limited social contact for 14 days after returning and make sure you do not have symptoms before re-engaging - see this CDC web page for more details.

Wash hands frequently with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds (or cleaning with alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap & water not available), especially (but not only) before eating or drinking

  • Try to sanitize your phone with an anti-viral wipe whenever you clean your hands – otherwise your hands will be potentially contaminated again when you touch your phone

Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth as much as possible, especially if you have not recently cleaned your hands

Use mask/face covering (can be cloth) in public settings especially where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies).

Refrain from close or personal contact with others such as hand-shaking, hugging, kissing, or getting too close (CDC guidance is 6 feet or more)

Cough or sneeze into your sleeve or a tissue (not your hands), then throw the tissue in the trash

Clean surfaces with non-"green" products (i.e. bleach-based or otherwise anti-viral)

Larchmont Temple is disinfecting public and common surfaces being used in the building (both Temple and Blum/Nursery School) as part of our regular cleaning regimen

See this CDC page for more information on precautions
