About The Larchmont Temple Brotherhood

The Larchmont Temple Brotherhood strives to provide meaningful services to the Larchmont Temple community. We create opportunities to build stronger congregational ties, support our clergy and lay leadership in the development of educational programs, and provide a forum for expressing Jewish men's values. We develop and sponsor community-building events that support Judaism and Jewish life through a stimulating and varied lecture series, our Yom Hashoah Candle Program, co-sponsored events with WRJ, and partnering with the School Board and the Youth Board. LTB is a member of the North American Federation of Temple Brotherhoods, a coalition of over 250 affiliated brotherhoods with 25,000 members across North America, dedicated to tikkun olam 'reparing the world" through the practice of Brotherhood.

Please join us at Brotherhood Breakfasts and other events. Please join the Brotherhood.

Letter From the Brotherhood President

 Dear Larchmont Temple Member:

I wanted to let you know that the Brotherhood is working to provide you with programs and activities that will challenge, stimulate and teach you.  In order to continue to provide our programs and other services to the Larchmont Temple community, we need your financial support as well as your participation in our programs.  As in the past, we hope you will join us for this year’s events, and that we can count on your full and continued support and participation in the important activities we will be hosting for you, your families and the entire Larchmont Temple community.

The Brotherhood will continue to host the monthly Sunday breakfast series.  As in the past, you can count on a number of interesting and diverse speakers, who will speak on a wide range of topics of both local and global interest.  Our speaker schedule for 2009/2010 is as follows:

October 18, 2009 - Sally Srok Friedes - Sally Srok Friedes, a former Larchmont Temple member, will be discussing her book "The New Jew - An Unexpected Conversion." The recently published book chronicles Sally's ten year journey of conversion to Judaism.

November 15, 2009 - Fall Scholar in Residence, Dr. Avivah Gottlieb Zomberg - Dr. Zomberg is one of the most innovative and acclaimed biblical commentators teaching Torah today. Dr. Zomberg's latest book is "The Murmuring Deep - Reflections on the Biblical Unconscious."

December 13, 2009 - Stephen Wallace - Psychologist and lecturer, Stephen Wallace, is an expert on adolescence in today's world. Mr. Wallace will be speaking about his recent book "Reality Gap: What Parents Don't Know and Teens Aren't Telling Them."
