School Closings

Occasionally we need to close Religious School because of inclement weather. Monday-Thursday closings follow the decision of the Mamaroneck Board of Education.

If public school is cancelled due to inclement weather, religious school is canceled.

If public school enacts early dismissal due to inclement weather, religious school is canceled.

If public school enacts late start due to inclement weather, religious school will most likely be open depending on later weather conditions.

If public school is operating on a regular schedule despite inclement weather, religious school may still be canceled depending on later weather conditions.

Monday-Thursday Closings are announced on the P.A. system of all Larchmont-Mamaroneck public schools, as well as at select other schools attended by our students. Due to the large number of families with two working parents, the Temple does NOT enact a phone chain for mid-week closings.

Sunday Closings are determined based on prevailing weather conditions at 8 a.m. on a given Sunday. In the event of a closing, parents will be notified to enact phone chains. Please Note: severe weather conditions in Westchester and NYC (not experienced in Larchmont) may necessitate the closing of school if our teachers are unable to travel safely to the Temple.
